Ask Jeanmarie: Dreaming of Loved Ones
Jeanmarie (Witchster)
8 January 2010
Jeanmarie,
As odd as this may sound, several months ago, I thought I was dreaming
of my boyfriend who'd passed on. I say dreaming because a lot of the
time, I felt I was not really asleep, but in my REM sleep - just before
I'd fall asleep or just when I was waking up, mostly when I was waking
up. I could also control my actions of what I'd do in the "dreams".
When this first started happening, I would sort of freak out because of
some other extreme nightmares (I later found an exact description of
what I was experiencing being described as "Night Terrors" so I tried a
few things and stopped those). Then these other "dreams" started just a
few weeks (or so) later. I would either feel someone in bed with me
just as I drifted to sleep or when I was waking up. I was a little
frightened because I knew nobody should be in bed with me. One
particular morning, I woke up and realized there was an arm around me
and I thought "ok, if nobody is really in bed with me this time and
it's a dream, I'll reach down and not feel anything". So, I reached my
hand to my waist where I felt the arm draped across me. There was
definitely an arm on me! I jumped out of bed and of course there was
nobody there. The next morning I woke up (I was definitely awake) and
my legs were intertwined with other legs. Keep in mind, I did not/do
not know who this was. I was always facing away from him. I just knew
nobody should be in bed with me. I reached my leg up and stomped my
foot down on his and clear as day I heard, "OUCH that hurt!" and he was
gone. I immediately thought, "oh no, was that Jim?" (who was my bf
who'd passed away a little over a year ago). I didn't have anymore of
those dreams for several weeks. I was so upset that I'd "run him off".
Then I started having these sex dreams. This was happening on an
average of 3 - 4 nights a week. I was thinking it was "Jim" who'd come
back, so honestly, I just "went with it". At some point, I began to
think that it was not Jim. I never saw his face as my eyes were always
closed. The main thing I remember in the "dream" though is this man's
kiss. This seems to really stand out. One night my girlfriend said,
"next time you feel he's there, open your eyes and look at him". So,
the next time I was having this "dream" I did that. It was not Jim and
I did not recognize him. I was not afraid either. I felt very connected
to him. Very "in-love". The dreams slipped away. I wasn't having them
anymore. Talking with my friend, she suggested then that next time, if
he comes again, ask his name. He has not come back since I saw his face
and even that memory is drifting away. So, am I really losing my mind?
I would swear to you I was awake during these times. This is very
confusing and also the fact that since I saw his face, he has not come
back. Can you shed any light on this? Thanks ever so much. Elizabeth
Hi Elizabeth,
Thank
you for writing. You are not losing your mind. Someone wants you to
share your mind with them...and/or your body! You are on someone's mind
and he has made contact with your "mind's emotions" or "Psyche" . As
you have ruled out Jim, his face not being the one you saw, this could
be one of two things. Either a "secret admirer" who has their eye on
you and is dreaming of you, or it could be a "Soulmate"....or both!
If
this is someone dreaming of you, this person may be shy or "spying" on
you, unsure what to do. It's a game of cat and mouse, and right now he
is being quiet as a mouse. He did not want you to be consciously aware
of his presence. He did not want you to know him. He may not have been
consciously aware himself that he was "flying" to you in his dreams. He
was finding comfort in your arms and he was dreaming of kissing you.
You caught him in the act.
If and when he enters your
consciousness again, steer clear of anything sexual. Instead, ask him
whether he meditates? Ask him if he knows who you are, and how he knows
you? Ask him if he is aware that he is present "in spirit" with you?
Ask him what time it is? Ask him if it is snowing? Raise the level of
consciousness from a physical to a mental level. It can make you
neurotic if it remains sensual, and it leaves you open to "psychic
attack" or "violation of the mind." Ask him if he knows what he is
doing? Ask him where he is and what he wants? If he does not answer,
tell him to leave and to call you on the phone, and kick him out again!
Meditate and visualize the face you saw and memorize it. Look
to meet that person. If he is a "Soulmate", your paths will cross.
Maybe more than once before you actually meet and speak. Your hearts
and minds, intertwined, will cause you to meet serendipitously. Tell
him to show you his face again.
It could be both "secret
admirer" and "Soulmate." This is the theory I like best. You may have a
"secret admirer" who was not scared away by you, but by the face of
your "soulmate" who entered the picture to defend you, and say that you
are "spoken for". The "secret admirer" saw the same face you were shown
and immediately departed and therefore will not return. A "Soulmate"
who has found you in his mind will communicate with you mentally and
will show you things and will help you and protect you. A "Soulmate"
may arouse you to get your attention and wake you up to his presence
but will not repeatedly sexually assault you, or confuse you. Instead
his mind will complement yours and you will be able to do a lot of
things that you previously could not do. He will inspire you and you
will inspire him. A "Soulmate" is Magic and thrilling and better than
sex! There will be enough time for that if you are lucky enough, when
you meet in person. If not, then rejoice anyway! You have found your
"Inner Man" and your integrity.
I hope this has shed some light
on your dilemma. Call me for a reading if you would like to explore
this further. Let me know if you hear from him or them again!
Namaste and Blessed Be,
Your Witchster,
Jeanmarie
